mixtape = love #27 and chat room link

I was all over the place tonight, from the spastic punk of Mcluskey to remixes of Mingus. But that's the way I like it.

I mentioned the pat radio chat room on this evening's show. You can connect to it and talk to yourself. Or you can message me first via the request form and I'll hop on and jabber with you. Chat rooms have been done, I guess, but it's just another of those because it's there things. It's hosted by afternet.org. Another channel on afternet besides #patradio is #MusicTrivia. I discovered it a couple weekends ago. It's basically a trivia bot connect to the channel. And I guess it runs on a few other irc nets. I rarely find anyone else in the room when I'm racking up points, but I have managed to demonstrate my mad music knowledge skillz to a couple folks. I get the feeling there's more activity on the other networks served by #MusicTrivia, so once I've climbed to the top of the yearly scores on afternet, I'll give the others a swing. I have a lot of the records and top spots tied up right now on afternet. Yep, livin' on the edge. That's me. I'm known as gern on both #patradio and #MusicTrivia, by the way. Just another effort to confuse you.

sounds like the ID culomns are using automagically-generated IDs and, rather than simply copying the previously-generated numbers across, the new db server has generated new numbers.a friend saw this recently when upgrading a SQLServer db, and dug up a pre-existing tool to fix it IIRC. alternatively, you might be able to do an Update on the new table’s ID column, depending on how the new IDs map to the old IDs.but short summary: your old IDs are jiggered and need to be re-copied across into the new ID col.

Once upon a time, I turned pages for Jamie when he performed the Kreutzer Sonata at a studio class. This was before I played it myself, so I was unfamiliar with the theme & variations movement. There's one particular variation which is 2 straight pages of 16th notes, and 2 repeats. I made the mistake of glancing away from the page for a second, and discovered to my horror when I looked back that I couldn't remember a) where we were, and b) whether we had done the repeats. I ended up half-standing & hovering for what seemed like an eternity, with Jamie kindly giving me subtle no shakes and finally a clear yes nod.Then there was the time that I turned for a friend playing in a vocal recital @ Scotiafest. He asked me at the last minute as a favour, so I accepted, forgetting that I was battling the remnants of a nasty cough. There's nothing like being on stage and NOT BEING ALLOWED TO COUGH that will make you want to cough up a lung. I managed to get through the entire thing without once coughing during a piece, but then had a friend in the audience comment on the odd expression on my face at various times.
